Your New Patient Visit at Alaniz Dental Group

Your first visit to Alaniz Dental Group isn’t just an appointment; it’s the foundation of a long-lasting relationship. We’ll meticulously review your medical and dental background during this pivotal encounter. It’s an opportunity for you to meet your doctor and our dedicated team, providing a comfortable setting to discuss any dental health concerns and potential treatments. We’ve designed your inaugural visit to be unhurried, ensuring a tranquil environment where every minute is dedicated to you.

Step 1: Your Appointment

Upon your arrival, our welcoming team will be ready to assist you with check-in, notifying your oral health team of your arrival, and verifying insurance if applicable. To save time, we recommend completing any new patient forms sent in your appointment confirmation email before you arrive.

Afterward, a friendly team member will escort you from the waiting room to a private treatment room. During your visit, our dental team will review your dental and medical history and discuss any dental health concerns or issues you may have. To further assess your oral health, our dental assistant will take X-rays to examine the jaw’s structure, teeth position, and tooth condition.

Step 2: Your Exam

Once you’re settled in a treatment room, a team member will review your dental and medical history and any concerns you may have. We use advanced dental technology such as intraoral cameras to provide a 3-D video tour of your teeth and jaw structure, allowing us to make more accurate diagnoses and provide personalized treatment plans.

During your comprehensive exam, we will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth, and take x-rays to assess your overall oral health. Our goal is to help you achieve your dental goals while ensuring your comfort and satisfaction. After the exam, we will review our findings with you and discuss recommended treatments and procedures.

Step 3: Your Hygiene Visit

During your first visit, your dental health team will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth to determine the appropriate treatment plan for your specific oral health needs. Depending on your condition, a cleaning may or may not be performed during this initial visit.

Our skilled dental hygienist will perform an oral cancer screening and evaluate the condition of your teeth and gums. If a cleaning is deemed appropriate, the hygienist will use traditional tools or advanced water-powered instruments to remove any buildup of plaque or tartar. Your hygienist will also provide personalized tips on how to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent gum disease. The entire hygiene exam typically takes around 45 minutes, and you will be provided with a toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste to continue your home care routine.

New Patient Forms

Ahead of your scheduled visit, Alaniz Dental Group has made patient forms available online for your convenience. Filling these out in advance will assist in a prompt check-in when you arrive. If, for any reason, you’re unable to pre-fill these forms, please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so you can complete them at our office.

Learn More About New Patients at Alaniz Dental Group

Absolutely! Alaniz Dental Group warmly welcomes new patients. We often have openings within a matter of days or weeks. On your initial visit, you can expect a thorough examination by the doctor, complemented by the required X-rays. It’s also an excellent opportunity for you to discuss any particular concerns or issues with our dental professionals.

While previously you might have been accustomed to booking just a dental cleaning for your first visit to a new dentist, our approach aligns with contemporary dental standards. Every new patient undergoes a thorough oral examination complemented by essential X-rays at our clinic. This allows our dentists to understand your oral health holistically before recommending any treatments. Should cleaning be the appropriate next step, we often have slots available that day.

For your convenience, we provide a range of payment options.

Our dedicated dental team is here to assist you with a pre-treatment estimate of benefits and with processing your insurance claim. Should we not be in-network with your insurance, we’ll still guide you on claim submission. Please note that patients are expected to cover any difference between the insurance payout and the procedure’s actual cost. Payments are expected at the time of service unless other agreements have been set beforehand.
